From A National Title

Four Lakeridge High School alumni are in Shelby, North Carolina this week playing for the Post 158 Barbers — the team representing the entire Northwest Region at the American Legion World Series.

Eight teams are left in the country. One of them is full of guys who grew up on Overlook Drive. This page exists so nobody can say they didn't know.

The Lakeridge Four

These aren't role players. In the Northwest Regional championship game — the win that punched the ticket to Shelby — three of the four were directly in the box score of an 8–7 comeback.

1
Jonny King
Catcher / Pitcher

Took the ball in relief in the Regional final and threw three scoreless innings to hold the comeback together. Got the win that sent the Barbers to Shelby.

6
Andrew Ha
Outfield / Pitcher

Drove in two runs in the Regional championship game as the Barbers erased a 7–2 deficit.

7
Jaden Tragesser
Second Base

Went 4-for-4 with two runs scored in the Regional final. A perfect day at the plate with a World Series berth on the line.

14
Cooper Berta
Outfield / Pitcher

Laid down the walk-off squeeze bunt that drove in the winning run to take the state tournament. The kind of at-bat that doesn't show up in a highlight reel and wins you a championship anyway.

How They Got Here

Do Something About It

Make Some Noise

Four kids from one high school are playing on a national stage this week. That deserves a gym full of people watching, a banner, a post, something. Here's a message ready to go — copy it, edit it, send it.
